Nov 16, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Spanish plywood manufacturer Garnica will open its new Euro 18.5 million poplar veneer factory in France on November 22, as TTJ reported.
The 50,000 cubic metres dry veener capacity plant is situated in Samazan in the Garonne region, one of the best poplar regions in southern France. Poplar is the main raw material for Garnica’s plywood boards.
The investment, together with the recent Euro 12.2 million extension and modernisation of the group’s Banos de Rio Tobia plant, means the group has increased its annual production capacity from 140,000 cubic metres to more than 200,000 cubic metres of plywood.
