The Portuguese cork-flooring manufacturer Amorim Revestimentos S.A., Sao Paio Oleiros, has taken over the German company Cortex Korkvertriebs-GmbH, Furth-Bislohe, Euwid wood products and panels reported. The acquisition took effect on May 27, 2008. Cortex is to continue to operate in the market as an independent company with its own product portfolio. Changes in terms of location, employee numbers, management or field-service organisation are not planned. Michael Schwarzer remains in office as CEO for Cortex. Amorim will therefore service the German market in future on a parallel basis through Cortex and the sales branch Amorim Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, Delmenhorst.
