With a view to expanding the wood division and enhancing its operational efficiency, Groupe Gascogne is considering merging Escobois, Espiet, Lecopin and GPL, the division's four longstanding subsidiaries, into one legal entity. This plan, which would not have any impact on the workforce, is currently being studied by the labour representatives of the relevant companies.
Groupe Gascogne is France’s leading generalist wood-products company, the world’s largest producer of natural machine-glazed kraft paper, France’s leading packaging distributor and Europe’s fourth-largest sack manufacturer. It is also one of the world’s largest producers of laminates for packaging and protection.
