Sep 08, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Huber Engineered Materials, part of J.M. Huber Corporation, announced that prices for kaolin products sold to the paper industry will increase by an average of 12%, dependent upon grade and form. The increase will go into effect on October 1, 2005, or as contracts permit. The dramatic and continued increases in energy and chemical costs have outpaced efforts to improve productivity. While Huber understands the pressures faced by the paper industry, we can no longer insulate our customers from the cost increases incurred by our operations. Huber Engineered Materials is the largest producer of Georgia kaolin products for the paper industry. Huber's operates three plants in Georgia and supplies quality kaolin product to all regions of the globe.
