Sep 29, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Ballarpur Industries Ltd, India's largest paper maker, will raise coated paper prices by 1,000 rupees ($21) a tonne from October 1, Reuters reported. "Globally, coated paper prices have been goiong up and demand has not been impacted by that and the recent market turmoil," chief general manager Anil Pahwa said. Uncoated paper prices will be raised by 750 rupees ($15.8) a tonne, he added.The company also sees operating margins improving by at least 25-30 basis points in the year ending June 2009 due to lower pulp prices and new capacity, he said.
