Aug 28, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Irving Tissue is planning a $120 million expansion of their upstate consumer products mill, Associated Press reported. Irving Tissue officials say they're investing in the latest paper-making technology, and new buildings totaling 136,000 square-feet will be built at the existing Fort Edward site.
Construction of the new buildings is set to begin in spring 2009, with the installation of new equipment to follow.
Last November, the Canadian company announced a $35 million investment in a new 90,000 square-foot building and new converting equipment. That project is on target for this October.
Irving Tissue employs about 300 people at their Fort Edward plant, making consumer facial and bathroom tissue products, paper napkins and towels.
