Dec 23, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Horizon Tselluloosi ja Paberi AS that operates the Kehra paper plant has stopped production again, this time because of lack of orders, Lesprom Network informed according to BBN. Board member Aime Kersti-Kelder said the company has started to stop production for more than a month, partly because of lack of orders and partly because of its debt. The stoppage is expected to last until February and will affect about 450 employees, some of which will be sent on partly paid leave and some will take their annual leave. “We are running down machines and are sending people on forced leave,” said Kelder. She was optimistic that the company will be able to continue operations in February and March since it had received orders for that time. In November the plant stopped work for three weeks because of debts to gas supplier Estonian Gas and power supplier Eesti Energia.
