Dec 22, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Swedish specialty paper producer Klippan AB said after negotiations with paper and packaging merchant Papyrus, a wholly-owned unit of Stora Enso Oyj, the companies have decided to terminate their cooperation. The company declined to comment on the reasons for ending their cooperation.
Klippan said the terminated agreement will mean a volume loss of around 20 000 metric tonnes, or about SEK 250 million ($31.4 million).
Under the agreement, which started in conjunction with Klippan's acquisition of the Moelndal paper plant in 2002, Klippan produced paper qualities mainly under the Colorit, Opticolour and Stora Fine brand names, which were then marketed and sold by Papyrus on the European market.
Klippan said talks are currently being held for a wind-up plan to find opportunities to sell the volumes via other channels.
