Jul 11, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Owing to increased production costs, pulp production curtailments, decreasing fine paper delivery volumes, the strengthening of the euro and the delay in coated fine paper price increases, M-real’s full year 2008 operating profit excluding one-off items, would weaken from last year's Euro 49 million, Euwid pulp and paper reported.
In spite of price increases for most of M-real’s products and additional profit improvement measures, the weakened US dollar and British Pound have considerably offset the positive effect of these efforts, so that the company will not succeed in covering cost inflation this year.
