Mercer International Inc. announced on Tuesday the appointment of Werner Stueber to the position of vice president - technical support and pulp operations and Wolfram Ridder to vice president, business development. Werner Stueber will move from his current position as co-managing director of Rosenthal to assume this new senior role in keeping with the company's commitment to strive for continuous improvement in all of its mills. Mr. Stueber has over thirty years of direct industry experience including the brown field modernization and optimization projects at Rosenthal. Wolfram Ridder will move to a business development role from his current position as co-managing director of Stendal. With the Stendal project complete and ramping up, this new position will focus on the development of opportunities, government relations, subsidies, carbon credits and derivative matters. It also includes EPC contract finalization with respect to Stendal. Mercer also has experienced mill managers at each of its mills who have operated through multiple business cycles in the pulp and paper industry.
