Metsä Group divests its pole business to ScanPole Ltd.
Metsäliitto Cooperative, the parent company of Metsä Group, has agreed on the sale, dated of the entire share capital of Metsä Wood’s UK-based pole business subsidiary Burt Boulton & Haywood Ltd (BBH) to ScanPole Ltd, a subsidiary of Iivari Mononen Oy. The employees of BBH, a total of 29 people, will transfer to the buyer as existing employees.

Cooperative, the parent company of Metsä Group, has agreed on the sale, dated of
the entire share capital of Metsä Wood’s UK-based pole business subsidiary Burt
Boulton & Haywood Ltd (BBH) to ScanPole Ltd, a subsidiary of Iivari Mononen
Oy. The employees of BBH, a total of 29 people, will transfer to the buyer as
existing employees.
With the
transaction Metsä Wood will discontinue the pole business and according to the
industrial efficiency strategy the company will focus on its core businesses –
industrial scale production and sales of Nordic sawn timber, timber upgrades,
plywood and Kerto®.
The sale is
estimated to be completed by the end of the first half of 2015, and it will not
have any appreciable effect on Metsä Wood's result.
