Oct 16, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Mexico's leading paper products company Kimberly-Clark de Mexico (Kimber) said on Thursday its third-quarter net profit fell 1 percent compared to the year-ago period, when it logged a big monetary gain, Reuters reported. Kimber earned 863 million pesos ($79 million) in the July-September period, the company said in a report. Sales gained 9 percent to 5.63 billion pesos. Higher prices for energy and materials put pressure on profit growth, Kimber said. "Electricity and natural gas have increased 60 and 50 percent respectively. With respect to other materials, pressure continued during the quarter particularly in oil derivatives, pulp and recycled fibers," the company said. Kimber shares ended off 1.06 percent at 37.34 pesos. ($1 = 10.949 at end of September).
