The following report was presented by the employees to the chairman of the board of directors of Anglo American sir Mark Moody-Stuart. On April, 8 Mark Moody Stuart will pass the report to Komi governor Vladimir Torlopov.
Mondi Business Paper Syktyvkar is owned by Mondi Business Paper – an affiliate of Mondi (timber and paper division of Anglo American). According to the SEAT report, the transformation of divisions into independent enterprises is required by the necessity to support the initiative expressed by the local government of Ezhva. The new enterprises will create jobs and reduce the dependence of municipy on the enterprise. The main enteprise owned by the company are located in Ezhva district. 80% of the local budget revenue is composed by the tax payments paid by the enterprises.
According to the report, Mondi Business Syktyvkar 'fully supports the development of economic opportunities of the district and is currently transferring some of its divisions into independent enterprises'. Meanwhile the company will uphold to 3 main principles: transparency of assets; reasonable asset prices; fair cometition in order to prevent the mutual dependence of the enterprises and the timber sector.
As reported earlier, in 2004 the company transferred several divisions into independent enterprises – Papyrus, Syktyvkarskie paper products, Repairs and building trust and Scientific research projects.
