Nippon Paper Industries resumes operation at Iwanuma mill (Iwanuma, Miyagi) following restarting of Nakoso mill (Iwaki, Fukushima) on April 5, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. The boilers in the mill were damaged by the earthquake of March 11 and stopped operating. However, the paper machines, the main equipment in the mill, have been caused comparatively slight damage. The mill is starting to operate one of boilers this week, two paper machines for newsprint will be restarted one by one after April 11.
