Nippon Paper to raise export prices in July

May 29, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Nippon Paper Industries Co. announced that it will raise the prices of its printing paper products for exports in July. The markets to be affected by the price hike, the second for this year, include Asia, North America and Australia, the company said.
The move reflects sharp increases in raw materials and energy costs, it said. The prices of uncoated wood free paper, coated wood free paper and light weight coated paper will be raised by $100 per ton. The prices of newsprint paper will be hiked by $200. For the domestic market, Nippon Paper is set to raise its printing paper prices at the beginning of June.
