The timber production is on increase in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Forestry stations and mine prop stations under the Ryanggang, Jagang and North Hamgyong provincial forestry complexes have already fulfilled their January plan on all indices. The Jangjin forestry station and Tanchon and Toksong mine prop stations under the South Hamgyong provincial forestry complex and other units finished their January plan in the first half of the month. The South Phyongan and Kangwon provincial forestry complexes have introduced rational working methods suitable for topographical conditions of mountains and transported hundreds of cubic meters of timber more than their daily assignments by putting the means of transport in full-capacity operation. From the beginning of the new year more than 300 forestry stations have made their appearance throughout the country.
