Nov 10, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Nordic wood industries announced figures of strong growth this year. In Norway the production of lumber in January-September 2010 grew 15% compared to year 2009. The production of conifer-sawn timber grew 8% in Sweden and as much as 27% in Finland, the Nordic Forest Owners' Associations said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. Between January and September 2010 the production of sawn timber in Norway was around 1.6 million cubic metres. The production grew 15% from 2009. In Sweden in January-September 2010 the production was around 12.7 million cubic metres. The production compared to year 2009 was 8% higher. The production of conifer saw timber in Finland in the same time period was around 7.2 million cubic metres, which equals a growth of 27 % compared to the year 2009. The amount of exported lumber grew in Norway and Finland. For Norway the growth was 5% and for Finland 15%. In Sweden the export level of sawn timber laid 7% below the level of the year 2009.
