In March 2007 spot prices for packaging in Russia varied in the range of RUR 9-14 per square meter, up 3% compared to February 2007, Lesprom.ru reported according to data provided by the companies. Selling price for corrugated packaging in March 2007 was RUR 10.68 (VAT) per cubic meter, for transportation packing from corrugated board - RUR 13.5 per square meter. According to the companies, packaging price increase by 3-5% is expected in June 2007 but exact terms and increase rate will depend on market conditions, hardening competition and prices fixed by raw material suppliers. Demand for packaging in March 2007 was strong due to seasonal growth of demand on the part of food industry enterprises.
