Rigid Containers acquires remaining 35% share-holding in Rigid Aston
Oct 20, 2010. Rigid Containers Ltd has finalised details to acquire the remaining 35% share-holding in Rigid Aston held by Chris and Tony Page, following the liquidation of Willowmart Ltd.

Rigid Containers Ltd has finalised details to acquire the remaining 35% share-holding in Rigid Aston held by Chris and Tony Page, following the liquidation of Willowmart Ltd, (a company owned by the Page family). Messrs Page and Rigid Containers had previously announced a joint venture, called Rigid Aston, which came into effect on 1st January 2010. The joint venture company supplied single face corrugated reels and sheets to the trade, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network.
Richard Coward, Managing Director of of UK based Rigid Containers Ltd, explains, “As well as the remaining share-holding, we have also acquired the machinery and stock from the Administrators of Willowmart. The machinery includes some special equipment used to manufacture ‘corrupad’ heavy duty protection pieces. In addition to the new services we will be able to offer, we are taking the opportunity to re-brand the division under the previous banner of Rigid Charta, and the main line of products will now be known as ‘Chartapad’.”
Day to day running of the Rigid Charta facility in Birmingham is now headed by Dave Linton; the Sales office, which is located at Rigid’s Selby facility, is headed by Julian Freeman.
Rigid Containers Ltd – a leading UK manufacturer of corrugated cases – is part of the Belgian integrated group, VPK. Rigid currently operates two strategically located, state-of-the-art manufacturing, warehousing and logistics facilities in the UK. These are based in Desborough and Selby.
