Rubright, chairman and chief executive officer of Rock-Tenn Company, has been elected chairman of the board of the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA), the national trade association of the forest, paper, and wood products industry. “I’m honored to serve the paper and forest products industries in this capacity,” said Mr. Rubright. “I will work with the Association to continue to advance public policies that reflect the industry’s commitment to environmental stewardship and help us achieve global competitiveness.” Ms. Duggan added, “Jim is a terrific candidate for the job-- not only is he highly respected across the industry, but also, his record at Rock-Tenn proves he has the leadership to make things happen. I look forward to working with him in 2007.” Mr. Rubright joined Rock-Tenn, which is headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, as chief executive officer in 1999. Previously, he served as executive vice president of Sonat, Inc., in Birmingham, Alabama. There, he oversaw Sonat's interstate natural gas pipeline and energy marketing businesses. Prior to joining Sonat, Mr. Rubright was a partner at the law firm of King & Spalding in Atlanta, Georgia. A native of Ship Bottom, New Jersey, Mr. Rubright received his juris doctorate from the University of Virginia and a bachelor of arts degree from Yale University.
