Jul 15, 2005. /Lesprom Network/ The association of Russian furniture and timber-processing industry manufacturers applied to the interdepartmental commission on protectionism in foreign trade and customs-tariff policies suggesting the reduction of import duties for particleboard from 20% to 10%, paper-covered, melamine tar sodden particleboard – from 15% to 5%, the Ministry of economic development and trade announced. According to the association, the following measure is essential because of the insuffucient production of particleboard in Russia, which is of high demand in the furniture industry. All interested individuals may file their suggestions in this respect to the foreign trade and customs department under the Ministry of economic development and trade by August, 23 2005.
