Jan 25, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. The sales of Russia's largest stationery producer and seller Komus rose 31% on the year to $458 million in 2005, the company said. Komus invested over $11 million in its business in 2005, the company said. The company opened two logistics facilities in Volgograd and Chelyabinsk. The total area of Komus' warehouses rose to 109,000 square meters in 2005 from 100,000 square meters. Komus also opened three stores in St. Petersburg, expanding its network to 55 stores, the company said. In 2005 Komus continued setting up contact centers to service companies. Komus opened six such centers in Moscow and other Russian regions, increasing the total number of its contact centers to 17 as of the end of 2005, the company said. Komus also opened two food packaging material factories in the Chelyabinsk and Kemerovo regions in 2005, increasing the number of its production facilities to 7, the company said. In 2006 Komus plans to continue the construction of the first plant in Russia to produce biaxialy oriented polystyrene. The plant, worth over $15 million, will be built in the Moscow Region, the company said. Komus also plans to open more than 20 contact centers and retail stores in Moscow and other regions in 2006, the company said. Komus' share of Russia's stationery market grew to about 27% in 2005 from 23% in 2004, according to company. Komus, established in 1990, is one of Russia's largest suppliers of paper and cardboard, and the country’s leading producer of plastic packaging materials. In 2005 Komus had more than a 30% share of the office paper market in Russia, a 15% share of the stationery market, a 16% share of the polygraphic paper and cardboard market and a 25% share of the packaging material market. Komus' stores sell over 15,000 different products.
