Södra increases timber and pulpwood prices
Oct 05, 2009. Södra is increasing the list price of timber by around SEK 50 ($7) per cubic metre. The price premium of SEK 25 ($3.5) per cubic metre for timber which Södra has implemented since May 2009 remains unchanged for the time being. The price of mixed coniferous pulpwood will also rise by SEK 25 ($3.5) to SEK 285 ($40.6) per cubic metre. The price change also affects spruce pulpwood.

The price premium of SEK 25 ($3.5) per cubic metre for timber which Södra has implemented since May 2009 remains unchanged for the time being. The price of mixed coniferous pulpwood will also rise by SEK 25 ($3.5) to SEK 285 ($40.6) per cubic metre. The price change also affects spruce pulpwood, the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
“Our need for wood materials has increased as a result of pulpwood and timber stocks being reduced to more normal levels and we need to increase our forestry operations even further. Demand in the wood supplies market is now stabilising after a period of considerable uncertainty,” says Södra’s Director of Forestry Urban Eriksson.
