Jun 11, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. Mayr-Melnhof Karton is acquiring all shares in Södra Cell Folla AS and consequently Södra's pulp mill in Follafoss in Norway, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.

In 2012 Södra Cell took the decision to divest the Follafoss pulp mill. Production at the mill ceased at the end of October/beginning of November 2012. Discussions about selling the mill got under way just before Christmas, a declaration of intent was issued at the end of December and an agreement has now been reached with Mayr Melnhof Karton.

Södra's pulp mill in Follafoss manufactures CTMP pulp (chemi-thermomechanical pulp) and has a capacity of just over 100,000 tpy.
