Siempelkamp to supply particleboard plant South African PG Bison

Mar 30, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. PG Bison Ltd., a South African based timber and panel products company and member of the Steinhoff Group, signed a contract with Siempelkamp Maschinen- und Anlagenbau for the delivery of a new particleboard plant.
Siempelkamp will provide the entire D&E-work. The resination systems and part of the furnish preparation will be supplied by its associated companies IMAL and PAL. Siempelkamp will supply the forming and press line, cooling line, saw, stacking line and automatic packaging line. PG Bison have also specified a debarker to ensure the production of a quality product with an excellent surface.
The press will be a 1.83 m x 42.1 m ContiRoll® press with an output of 1000 mі per day resulting in an average of 340,000 mі per annum. The output will be sold into the furniture industry both in South Africa and internationally.
In addition to the particleboard plant, PG Bison will also be establishing a timber cluster consisting of a sawmill, lamination plant, and in the future, a door manufacturing plant. The raw material will consist of Pine and Eucalyptus sourced from PG Bison’s 40,000 ha plantation in the area.
