Jul 12, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Sika has opened a new plant in Aparecida de Goiânia, state of Goiás,
mid-western Brazil, which is the
seventh plant in this country. Goiás is one of the fastest growing states in Brazil, providing an
excellent platform for Sika to supply the central and northern markets in the
country. The latest investment complements Sika’s supply chain which covers the
entire Brazilian market, as the company said in the press release received by
Lesprom Network.
The new plant brings Sika closer to its customer base in the mid-west of
Brazil. Increased customer
proximity and higher logistics efficiency help meet the increasing demand for
products in the construction markets, mostly concrete admixtures, waterproofing
systems and grouts.
Sika CEO Jan Jenisch said: “The new plant in Aparecida de Goiâna is, in addition
to the acquisition of Lwart Química earlier this year, a further step in our
strategic expansion in Brazil initiated in 2012.
Sika now operates seven factories in the country.”
