Slovenian wooden components producing group Javor Pivka posted a consolidated loss of SIT 59.4 million ($315 000) for the first half of 2006.

Slovenian wooden components producing group Javor Pivka posted a consolidated loss of SIT 59.4 million ($315 000) for the first half of 2006, according to Javor’s statement to the Ljubljana Stock Exchange. Comparative figures were not available. The group reported a net sales revenue of SIT 5.8 billion ($30.7 million) for the first half of 2006, up by 1.8% year-on-year.
The group’s parent company, Javor Pivka d.d., posted a loss of SIT 86.8 million ($461 000) for the first half of 2006, mainly due to poor performance of its furniture manufacturing unit, PC Pohistvo. The others three units closed the first six months of 2006 in line with the target, the company said. The parent company generated a net sales revenue of SIT 5.1 billion ($27.1 million), up 3.6% year-on-year.
The units of Javor Pivka d.d. include PC Opazne plosce, manufacturer of shuttering panels; PC Pohistvo for manufacture of furniture; PC Vezane plosce, making plywood, and PC Furnir which produces veneers. The group owns four independent subsidiaries, Javor Stroji, Javor IPP, Javor Trgovine Ljubljana and Javor Trgovine Zagreb.
