The value of purchased sawlogs and veneer logs was higher by almost 127%, of pulpwood by about 163%, and of other industrial roundwood by about 234%. The value of purchased wood fuel was twice as high as in the previous month.
The total value of roundwood purchased in March 2014 was three times higher than in March 2013. The main reason for such an increase in the purchase was the sleet in February 2014, while the unfavourable weather conditions in March 2013 were the main reason for lower purchase of roundwood than usual.
Thus, the value of purchased pulpwood was four times higher than in the same period of the previous year, the value of purchased sawlogs and veneer logs was three times higher, while the value of purchased wood fuel and other industrial roundwood was more than twice as high.
