Stora Enso to build pulp-and-paper mill in Nizhegorod region
7. Government of Nizhegorod region of Russia examines the possibility of construction in the region of second pulp-and-paper mill which will use hardwood timber as raw material.

Government of Nizhegorod region of Russia examines the possibility of construction in the region of second pulp-and-paper mill, which will use hardwood timber as raw material, region’s governor Valery Shanzev said during enlarged meeting of the board of chamber of commerce and industry of Nizhegorod region on January 17.
According to Shanzev, existing pulp-and-paper mill Volga (Nizhegorod region) uses as raw material only softwood timber, which is rare in the region.
At the same time, there are a lot of softwood forests in the region, Shanzev precised.
Enterprise’s productive capacity will total 1 million tonnes of pulp and 500 000 tonnes of coated paper per annum. Investments in the project amount to $1-1.5 billion, according to IA REGNUM.
