Oct 17, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. Per-Olof Wedin becomes the new President and CEO of Sveaskog. He has previously held the same position at Svevia, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. "We are thrilled to have recruited P-O Wedin. With his industrial expertise, vast knowledge of the forestry industry and experience of state-owned companies, he is ideally suited to lead Sveaskog. P-O Wedin is also a renowned strong leader," says Chairman of the Board for Sveaskog, Göran Persson. Per-Olof Wedin has been CEO at Svevia, formerly Vägverket Produktion, since 2007. He has also had a lengthy career in the forestry industry. In the past ten years he has held senior positions at Stora Enso, notably as head of the Publication Paper business area, based in Düsseldorf, Germany, and head of the Transport and Distribution. Prior to that, Per-Olof Wedin was CEO of Grycksbo Pappersbruk in Falun and has held various senior positions within R & D and production at Modo and SCA. "The Sveaskog role means that I am returning to my roots, to the forestry industry which is very close to my heart. The fact that Sveaskog is also one of the crown jewels among the portfolio of state-owned companies makes the task even more attractive and significant.
