Paper and hygiene products firm Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget said on Tuesday, January 31 it had hiked prices in its European tissue business in the second half of last year and would push for further price rises going forward. "In the European tissue operations, we gained acceptance for some price increases during the third and fourth quarters, following a long period of falling prices, and we are continuing to push for further price increases," the company said. It said that it had cut costs across the group by around SEK 700 million ($91.79 million) last year, but in the fourth quarter energy costs rose by SEK 240 million ($31.5 million) from the previous quarter. Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget is an international paper company that produces and sells absorbent hygiene products, packaging solutions and publication papers.
