Sweden’s exports of pellet decreased by 17 % in 2013
In 2013 exports Sweden’s pellets declined by 17 % to 285 000 m³ fub (cubic metre solid volume excluding bark), while imports rose by 40 % to 1.1 million m³ fub compared to 2012. Denmark is a major importer of Swedish pellets. Imports of pellets have increased mainly from Russia, Latvia and Estonia.

by 17 % to 285 000 m³ fub (cubic
metre solid volume excluding bark), while imports rose by 40 % to 1.1
million m³ fub compared to 2012. Denmark is a major
importer of Swedish pellets. Imports of pellets have increased mainly from Russia, Latvia and Estonia, as Swedish Forest Agency said in
the press release received by Lesprom Network.
Exports of wood chips fell 24% to 157,000 m³ fub (of which 90% was of
softwood) and imports decreased by 5% to 1.0 million m³ fub (of which 90% was
of softwood). Almost all the exports of chips went to Denmark and Norway. Imports of chips
came mainly from Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Norway.
