There have been some changes in the gross felling proportion between regions for the period 2010-2012 compared with 2009-2011. In the region Götaland which accounts for over 34% of the gross felling decreased slightly while gross felling increased in other regions.
Gross felling divided by ownership have remained relatively constant over the last three years periods. Individual forest owners accounted for 60% of gross felling, private sector companies /corporations and other private owners accounted for 29% and the public owners accounted for 11%.
The Swedish Forest Agency is the national authority in charge of forest-related issues. Its main function is to promote the kind of management of Sweden's forests that enables the objectives of forest policy to be attained. The Forest Agency has offices in approximately 100 places in the country, with the head office in Jönköping.
