May 05, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Swedish timber producer Rorvik Timber AB expects its profitability to rise in 2005 compared to 2004. The company posted a loss of 14 million Swedish crowns ($2.0 million/1.5 million euro) for the first quarter of 2005 compared to a net loss of 4.0 million crowns ($565,000/435,000 euro) for the same period of 2004. The company's operating loss rose to 16 million crowns ($2.3 million/1.7 million euro) from 9.0 million crowns ($1.3 million/980,000 euro) and the pre-tax loss to 19 million crowns ($2.7 million/2.1 million euro) from 5.0 million crowns ($706,000/544,000 euro). Rorvik Timber's turnover stood unchanged at 332 million crowns ($47 million/36 million euro). Rorvik Timber posted an operating profit of 13.6 million crowns ($1.9 million/1.5 million euro) for 2004 compared to an operating profit of 27.6 million crowns ($3.9 million/3.0 million euro) for 2003. According to its website, Rorvik Timber has wood processing operations with focus in southern Sweden. The company has an annual turnover of some 1.3 bln crowns ($184 million/142 million euro), 40% of which comes from exports.
