Mar 20, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Swedish pulp and paper group Svenska Cellulosa AB may consider acquisitions in North America in order to achieve its growth target there, Thomas Wulkan, head of SCA operations in North and South America, told Dagens Industri on March 16, 2006. The group aims to raise its sales more than the competitors in North America. SCA will first focus on boosting the productivity and profitability of existing operations. SCA North America specializes in production of tissue, speciality packaging and personal care items. The operations are concentrated in nearly 60 locations in Canada, Mexico and the USA. The group has over 5 000 employees across North America and annual sales of $1.5 billion. The head office is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the USA. The SCA group produces and sells absorbent hygiene products, packaging solutions and publication papers. It employs some 53 000 people in over 50 countries worldwide.
