The food containers plant of Swedish packaging company Tetra Pak located in Latina, in the central Italian region of Lazio, will be converted into a pharmaceuticals production unit, ANSA reported. A total 130 jobs will be saved after Tetra Pak decided to close down its plant in the Italian city, thanks to an agreement signed on June 17, 2006. According to the terms of the agreement, the plant, to be left by the Swedish packaging company as of September 30, 2006, will be occupied by Bsp Pharmaceutical. The 130 workers, who are currently placed under the so-called mobility procedure, will be trained and engaged in the production process again.
