Swedish Vattenfall plans to build biomass CHP plant in Finland

Sep 07, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Vattenfall Kaukolampo Oy, the Finnish district heating subsidiary of Swedish state-owned energy group Vattenfall AB, said on September 7, 2006 it was planning to build a biomass combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Heinola, southern Finland.
Vattenfall Kaukolampo will apply for an approval from the local environmental authorities.
The plant will be operational in the autumn of 2010. It will have a generation capacity of 60 MW of heating and some 90 GWh of electricity. The targeted heat generation will be able to meet the district heating needs in Heinola.
The construction will engage some 50 and the plant will have a workforce of about 20.
