Apr 28, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. The Swedish Paper Workers' Union ended its ten-day strike on April 26, after reaching a new 22 month agreement with the Forest Industries Federation, Metsä Tissue Corporation said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. Paper workers from 6 mills had been on strike since April 16, and the union warned that another 7 production units would join the strike late Monday if last-bid talks broke down. The costs for the strike are high, approximately around SEK 500 million ($70 million). The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) will compensate 100% of the losses of the affected companies, as Papernet reported.
