Sep 12, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. A delegation including business groups and the Tasmanian government will travel to Finland to gather more information on pulp mills. Representatives from the Tasmanian chamber of commerce and industry (TCCI), the University of Tasmania, Brand Tasmania and the Pulp Mill Task Force are undertaking the trip to look at the economic and environmental impacts of pulp mills on their surrounding communities. The chief executive of the TCCI, Damon Thomas, says when considering the financial investment of the proposed Pulp Mill at Bell Bay, it is important to understand exactly what the mill will mean for the state. Mr. Thomas says the group will leave for Finland later this month.
