The Finnish company International Paper considers placement of timber processing capacities in Irkutsk region, the spokesmen of the company declared at the meeting with Vice-governor of the region A. Rudik on 30 October 2002. Now the company is going to study potential of the region as well as the regions bordering China as for production of timber. Upon completion of the mission the best place for processing plant will be selected. The visit of International Paper delegation to Irkutsk region is connected with considering the region as possible object of investments. A. Rudik claimed that administration of Irkutsk region was ready to render all possible support to investor as well and grant tax exemptions for income and property tax.
