The German Development Bank supporting forest management in Peru
The German Development Bank (KFW) has contributed $0.85 million to the Forest and Wildlife department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (Peru) to implement a sustainable forest management programme to improve the competitiveness of the sector.

Development Bank (KFW) has contributed $0.85 million to
the Forest and Wildlife department of the Ministry of
Agriculture and Irrigation (Peru) to implement a
sustainable forest management programme to improve the competitiveness of the
sector, ITTO reported.
This first
contribution and will be used for pre-investment studies of this programme and
an assessment of is compatibility with the National Public Investment System.
The second phase of
the programme involve another contribution of $49.4 million from KFW, of which $42.3 million will
be a loan, and $7.1 million will be contributed by the Peruvian government.
Activities will be
conducted in the regions of Loreto, Ucayali, San Martin,
Amazonas, Madre de Dios, Cusco, Puno, Junin,
Ayacucho, Pasco, Huanuco and Cajamarca, for a
period of five years.
