May 28, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. On April 5, 2007 a confidential tissue producer located in Colombia, signed a contract with Toscotec for the rebuilding of one of their existing paper machine. This company and Toscotec have been having an excellent collaboration for long time. It has an excellent range of products both in tissue and kraft paper; its white two ply tissue produced from recycled paper is today one of the top brand on the Colombian market. The project consists in the rebuilding of the existing PM1 tissue machine from the actual Fourdrinier type to a Crescent Former. The tissue machine will have the capability to run at 1250 m/min production speed and a capacity of 65,5 tonnes per day with a net trim width of 3060 mm. The modification will be carried out in 2 steps: the first one will achieve the 700 m/min machine speed and the second one the full capability. The first step of the project will be completed at the beginning of 2008 with a shutdown of 15 days. Scope of supply includes a new forming section equipped with a single layer headbox, felt section modification and engineering for upgrading the existing auxiliary equipment such as approach flow system, vacuum plant and sectional drive system. The crescent former is Toscotec Ahead 1.5 type. Once the rebuilding will be completed, this mill will become one of the best qualified producer of waste paper based jumbo reels in Colombia. Toscotec serves paper mills throughout the world with its machinery and components for tissue, paper and board and stock preparation.
