U.S. printing-writing paper shipments decreased 2% in November compared to November 2009, as the American Forest & Paper Association said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. Two of the four major printing-writing grades posted increases compared to last November, while one remained essentially flat. U.S. purchases (shipments + imports – exports) of printing-writing papers decreased, down 3% in November. Total printing-writing paper inventory levels increased 3% compared to October 2010. The American Forest & Paper Association is the national trade association of the forest products industry, representing pulp, paper, and wood products manufacturers, and forest landowners.
