Sep 15, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. VPK Packaging Group NV expands its sheet feeding activities under the trade name Aquila with the building of a third new plant in Leinefelde, Germany, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
After the successful start-up of two Polish sheet feeding plants under the trade name Aquila, VPK Packaging Group NV continues on its elan by building a third, new, state of the art sheet feeding plant in Leinefelde.
The basis of this German greenfield project was founded by a joint venture with 2 experienced German business partners, Mr. Thomas Schwalbach and Mr. Martin Schnizer, who have their merits in the German market. VPK Packaging Group NV will have 50% of the JV.
This project involves an investment amount of Euro 30 million. The actual start of production is foreseen in the 3Q 2012. The roll-out of this project is subject to the approval of the grant by the local public investment bank (Thuringer Aufbau Bank). Over a period of 2 years, the employment will increase to about 55 employees. The plant will convert at a cruising speed 90,000 tonnes of paper into corrugated board.
