Vapo Group reported its January -September 2012 results

The turnover of the business area in the January-September period was Euro 157.9 million (Euro 170.3 million) with an operating loss of Euro 13.4 million (Euro -41.0 million, including writedowns in the pellet business).

The turnover of the business area in the January-September period was Euro 157.9 million (Euro 170.3 million) with an operating loss of Euro 13.4 million (Euro -41.0 million, including writedowns in the pellet business), as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
The turnover of Vapo Timber was Euro 86.0 million (Euro 97.2 million) with an operating result of Euro -8.0 million (Euro -3.8 million). The economic downturn and a decline in construction in the main market areas has significantly decreased demand for sawn timber, in addition to which high raw material costs are weighing on profitability.
Pellets posted turnover of Euro 72.6 million (Euro 75.1 million). Pellets had an operating loss of Euro 5.4 million (Euro -36.8 million). The profitability of the business improved in Finland and Poland, but remained weak in Sweden.
