The bottling hall at West End brewery has undergone a control and automation upgrade. South Australian Brewing ordered the upgrade in 2001. The bottling hall processes many beers from the brewery, as well as contract bottling of ready to drink spirit mixes. The process involves filling, capping, pasteurisation, labelling and packaging. Sage Automation installed a system, based on the three-tiered communications system of Rockwell Automation. The system has streamlined the process, increasing throughput as well as giving improved flexibility.
