Amcor announces new organisational structure

Packaging group Amcor Ltd has announced a proposed restructure of its organisation and senior management as it prepares for its $2.202 billion acquisition of the Alcan Packaging operations. The restructure is subject to confirmation of the Alcan deal, which is still under review in Europe and the United States and under consultation with the European Workers Council, Business Spectator reported.
The changes will not be implemented until all relevant approvals are received, Amcor said in a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange.
The Alcan operations will be split up and combined with various new and existing Amcor divisions.
Under the proposal, the group structure will include Amcor Felxibles - Europe and Americas, a combination of Amcor Flexibles Food and Flexibles Healthcare with Alcan Packaging Global Pharmaceutical and Food Europe.
Amcor Tobacco Packaging will be a combination of the Amcor Rentsch Asia organisation and the Alcan Tobacco Asia business.
Amcor Rigid Plastics has been renamed Amcor PET Packaging.
Other businesses will include Amcor Flexibles - Asia Pacific, Amcor Australasia, an unchanged Amcor Sunclipse and AMVIG.
The presidents of all the business groups will report directly to managing director and CEO Ken Mackenzie.
