Jun 16, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Andritz Pulp and Paper has received an order from Smurfit Kappa, Germany, to supply a PrimeCoat film press with a working width of 7.6 m and a roll width of 7.9 m. The scope of supply further includes an air glide system and a threading system (PrimeFeeder). Start-up is scheduled for February 2011, the company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. The applicator die of the PrimeCoat film press applies different sizes and size weights to either side of the paper web. A metering element (rod) defines the quantity of coating, and excess size is returned to the system. Due to its compact design, the PrimeCoat film press requires very little space in the production line (design speed: 1,200 m/min).
