Australia's exports of logs rose 7.1% year-on-year to 463.8 thousand m3 in January–March 2026. Export value fell 13.8% to $54.7 million and the average price contracted 19.5% to $117.9 per m3, according to Lesprom Analytics.
India accounted for 72.9% of Australia's log exports, receiving 338.1 thousand m3, a 31.9% year-on-year increase; the value of shipments to India rose 54.3% to $38.5 million and the average price was $114 per m3, up 17.0%.
China took 24.0% of shipments at 111.3 thousand m3, a 3.3% volume increase; value to China rose 3.0% to $13.7 million and the average price was $123 per m3, down 0.3%.

Smaller markets included Vietnam with 5.71 thousand m3, down 44.9% in volume and $0.8 million in value (-19.6%), at an average price of $146 per m3 (+45.9%).
South Korea received 5.62 thousand m3, up 128.5% in volume and $0.5 million in value (+112.5%), at $97 per m3 (-7.0%). New Zealand imported 1.80 thousand m3, down 47.2% in volume and $0.7 million in value (+32.2%), at $372 per m3 (+150.3%).
Very small consignments went to the Philippines (0.861 thousand m3, up 623.4%, $0.1 million), Japan (0.294 thousand m3, up 3142.6%, $0.1 million), Singapore (0.075 thousand m3, $0.0 million), the United Arab Emirates (0.020 thousand m3, $0.2 million) and the United Kingdom (0.010 thousand m3, $0.0 million).
