BC Forest Safety Council appointed Peter Lineen as new CEO
Aug 18, 2011. The BC Forest Safety Council’s board of directors appointed Peter Lineen as the new CEO of the forest sector’s health and safety association.
Aug 18, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. The BC Forest Safety Council’s board of directors appointed Peter Lineen as the new CEO of the forest sector’s health and safety association. Lineen, who was previously the Council’s COO, is passionate about health and safety and is acutely familiar with industry’s challenges in eliminating fatalities and serious injuries, as the BC Forest Safety Council said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
“Peter’s knowledge of the industry and his extensive health and safety experience are well-matched with our requirements and will ensure momentum continues in industry’s drive to eliminate serious injuries and fatalities,” said Reynold Hert who will be stepping down from his role as CEO effective October 1. Hert has agreed to stay on as Chair of the Board of Directors into 2013.
Lineen has 25 years of experience in the occupational health and safety (OH&S) field with a focus on forestry, wood products manufacturing and oil & gas across Canada and the USA. He is also a Canadian Registered Safety Professional with the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and has served as the Chair of the board of directors for the BCRSP.
The BC Forest Safety Council is a not-for-profit society dedicated to promoting forest health and safety. It was founded and is supported by all major forestry organizations in BC and works with forestry employers, unions, workers, contractors and the provincial government and agencies to implement changes necessary to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries in the forest sector.
